The King of Tattoo Removal!

We are so happy to announce that the revolutionary new tattoo removal product, Pigment Off has arrived at our salon.

Known as "The King Of Removal" has been making waves across Europe, The Middle East and America because of its fantastic results with minimum trauma and pain. We were in the first group to be trained in the UK and are the only salon in this region to be machine trained so as to be able to swiftly remove body tattoos as well as permanent make up.

So how does it work? There are many removal options on the market. Most people have heard of laser. There is also saline removal and acid removal. Laser doesn't actually remove the tattoo, it simply smashes it into such small particles the light travels through it so it isn't visible. The pigment remains in the body but is small enough to get into the lymphatic system and hang around in the lymph nodes. It's also incredibly painful to recieve and only works on certain colours.

Saline removal requires coarse salt to be rubbed into the tattoo and requires many treatments. Acid removal needs acid to put into the tattoo and both these treatments can lead to a lot of scarring. This is the reason that the German manufacturers of Pigment Off decided there had to be a better way.

Pigment Off is tattooed into numbed skin, binds with the pigment and heads towards the suface where some is removed on swabs. The rest forms a scab on the surface and falls off in a few days. As pigment can be on different levels in the skin, a few sessions may be needed.

Pigment Off is a fully licensed product, made in Germany and is suitable for permanent make up and small tattoos. It can also be used over lasered areas if that has been unsuccessful. Strict aftercare will need to followed for best results and a few months between sessions, but as you can see from the attached photo, these results are very impressive- perfect for people wanting to get rid of old eyebrow tattoos before getting new ones. The age of the tattoo is unimportant.

Permanent Vs. Semi Permanent

You may have seen both these terms flying about when it comes to microblading or powder brows and been confused as to what they mean or what the difference is. Some artists say permanent and some say semi permanent, but with regards to the treatment and the outcome, it's exactly the same. I choose to refer to myself as a permanent make-up artist and to my treatments as permanent. I'll do my best to explain why. I choose the term permanent make-up because once you have microblading or ombré brows they won't wash off. You will wake up every morning with your brows done. They do, however require maintenance. Every 18 months or so (the exact length of time depends on many genetic and lifestyle factors), you will need to get your brows colour boosted to keep the shape and colour fresh. This is because permanent make-up pigments should be very high quality and made from molecules much smaller than body tattoo pigments, allowing your body to break them down over time. For this maintenance reason, many artists prefer to call it semi-permanent make up. A client asked me to do ombré brows on her and she wore her make up in a very particular way, right up on her forehead. It was a really great, strong look, but maybe not one she will want to keep in the future. "but it's only semi-permanent!". Ethically I wouldn't want to take the risk of some of the pigment staying there so I politely passed. As part of my training with Deluxe Brows it was instilled into us that even with deft skill and perfect pigment distribution, we cannot absolutely guarantee that all the pigment will eventually go, you may be left with a slight shadow. As the skin is having a tattoo procedure (it is a tattoo, if anyone tells you it isn't then they're misinforming you) there is a change to the skin. To refer to it as semi-permanent means it should go back exactly how it was, for example semi-permanent eyelash extensions or semi-permanent hair dye and that is something that nobody can promise. These reasons are why I will continue to class what I do as permanent make-up. So whether you see permanent or semi-permanent, it's useful to keep these things in mind- it is a form of tattoo, it will require maintenance every 12-18 months, pick a well trained artist who is happy to be open about the procedure, and someone who uses high quality pigments, such as Deluxe Brows pigments that fade really well. Information On Microblading

This blog intends to give you more information, if you've been thinking about having microblading or other permanent brow treatments. A lot of people don't know much about this treatment so I thought a blog may help understand what’s involved and also what to expect from the healing stage. I decided to train with the best company I could find. There are lots of courses available but I had no intention of rushing into something that requires so much skill. Deluxe Brows demand incredibly high standards from their students and absolutely will not pass you until you’ve demonstrated consistent work over many months. Once passed an artist can continue to work through the levels until they are at an master/ instructor stage. They want to invest in all their students and the depth of work didn't put me off, it made me sure I was going to learn with the best. Aside from the artistry, students are taught hygiene to the absolute highest standards. When I had the council visit me to inspect. I gave them a run through of the treatment and they’d never seen anyone in permanent make up be so stringent with cleanliness. This is standard procedure with Deluxe Brows and should fill clients with confidence that their treatment is completely safe. Needless to say we passed our inspection with flying colours and were licensed to practice immediately. So what is Microblading? Well this is a common term being used for eyebrows where the individual hairs are “drawn” on. We prefer the term nanostroking, due to the fineness of the needles we use, but Microblading is a more common term. No blades are used, it is actually a row of tiny needles, dipped in pigment to pass over the skin in a way that mimics natural brow hairs. The result of this is that you get a more natural look and you don't have to do anything with your brows. You will wake up with them looking perfect. For people who want slightly bolder brows we can add some colour behind the hair strokes to produce a more filled in, yet still natural result. For those who actually desire more of a block colour, we can perform an ombré brow without the hair strokes, that mimics a make up look but still progresses from light in the middle to a darker tail. The brows are measured to be as close to perfect as possible and measurements depend on your natural brows, bone structure and face shape. This part of the process can be repeated as many times as necessary until you are completely happy with the result. The tattooing will not commence until you are 100% sure about the shape. Measuring allows us to correct asymmetry, adjust length, correct arches, all carried out to the millimetre. Clients are then numbed with topical anaesthesia to make them as comfortable as possible throughout. Microblading isn't necessarily suitable for everyone. It is dependant on many factors including skin type, age and lifestyle. I will be able to advise you of your suitability in a consultation and a machine ombré is always an option if hair strokes aren't. How you treat your brows in the healing stage will have a huge effect on the end result. Sunbathing, swimming, excessive sweating and certain skin treatments will all negatively impact the results of your brows, so we advise choosing a time when this won't be an issue. All appropriate aftercare will be given at your appointment. There can be inconsistencies in the healed results, including lighter and darker patches so a six week touch up is included in the price. At the touch up the colour can also be altered if it has healed too cool or warm. Your finished Brows can then last up to two years. a yearly colour boost is recommended to keep your brows fresh. All treatments require a scratch test to check you're not allergic to the high quality pigments and the needles. Test kits can be sent to you to carry out yourself and reactions are incredibly rare. There are however certain conditions that preclude the treatment. These are diabetes, acne treatments and low white cell count (common in people undergoing chemotherapy).
